Gospel Identities

Worshippers

Jesus Christ recreates our lives and enables us to abandon the worship of false gods and to live a life that makes much of the God of the Scriptures (Romans 12:1; 1:25).

Family

We are sinners adopted by God the Father into His family, learning to care for each other as family, and inviting others to experience the blessing of what it is like in God’s family. (Genesis 12:1-3, John 1:12,13, Romans 12:10-16)

Servant

We are Jesus’ possession, purchased by his blood and freed from selfish sin to serve others – to embody his message with our actions inside and outside the church (1 Corinthians 7:22-24; Galatians 1:20; Philippians 2:5-11).

Learners

We desire to renew our minds through the power of the Spirit, to be conformed to Jesus’ image in our attitudes and worldview (Matthew 28:18-20; John 16:13-15).

Missionaries

God has rescued us and sent us as his ambassadors – sharing in his desire to rescue others by convincing them that God is just and merciful, all-satisfying and infinitely valuable (2 Corinthians 5:17-21; John 20:21).
